Tracks Display preferences are only available when Show Advanced Tools is selected in Advanced preferences.

Color pop-up menu: Choose whether newly created tracks are automatically assigned a color, and determine how Logic cycles through the color palette when assigning colors.
Static: Newly created tracks are not automatically assigned a new color. Tracks are created with that specific track type’s default color, or a previously manually assigned color from the color palette. This is the default setting.
Auto Progress 24: When the first new track is created, it is assigned the leftmost (first) color in the color palette from the same row as the initially created track. Each subsequently created track is assigned the color from the next horizontal box to the right in the same row in the color palette. In this mode, only a total of 24 colors are used for automatic color assignment.
Auto Progress 96: When the first new track is created, it is assigned the leftmost (first) color in the color palette from the next higher row as the initially created track. If the initially created track is the top-right color, the first new track is assigned the first color of the lowest row of the color palette. In this mode, all 96 colors are cycled through for automatic color assignment.
Background pop-up menu: Choose whether the Tracks area uses a dark, light, or custom background. When Custom is chosen, a Background slider appears that you can drag to adjust the background.
Grid Lines checkbox: Choose how the Tracks Area displays horizontal and/or vertical grid lines. When the Automatic checkbox is selected, Logic Pro displays vertical grid lines with a default grayscale value. If Automatic is unchecked, Horizontal and Vertical sliders appear that you can drag to adjust the grayscale from white to black, along with a checkbox to select black.
Shaded Loops checkbox: When selected, looped sections of regions in the Tracks area are shown in a shaded color. Otherwise, they reflect the full color of the original region.
Show “+” Button next to Drummer Regions: When selected, a circular button with a “+” appears to the right of Drummer regions. Clicking the button adds a Drummer region to the right of the existing one.
